To win over new gin aficionados, the Gin Addict Festival is moving around the world, this time to Lyon in France.

The French city will become the temple of gin from November 26 to 28, hosting the first international festival dedicated to this distillate, the Gin Addict Festival. There has never been a better time for gin than now, making the gin and tonic one of the most popular cocktails today.

The Gin Addict Festival will take place at the Palais de la Bourse where they will welcome more than 60 exhibitors and will propose more than 150 gins from all over the world, from French to Belgian, passing through Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, South Africa, Brazil, Canada and of course England and Scotland.

Both big name brands and local producers will be present to show their expertise and immerse us in the history of this distillate.

Unlimited tastings and masterclasses dedicated to gin

During the event, participants will be able to create their own gin thanks to masterclasses given by professionals. They will then be able to taste their creations. Each type of master class has a specific price starting at 24 euros depending on the level, with unlimited tastings or expert plans at 38 euros.

Negroni

Recipe

35 ml of gin

35 ml of Campari

and 35 ml of Martini Rosso

Orange peel for garnish

Ice

Type of glass: Old fashioned

Preparation: Add the ingredients in the glass and add the ice. Stir gently and well until cooled and diluted. Strain the cocktail into a previously chilled glass. Finish by garnishing with the orange peel and serve immediately.

Recipe

60 ml London Dry style gin

30 ml of freshly squeezed lime juice

15 ml simple syrup

Club soda

Garnish: slice of lemon / maraschino cherry

Type of glass: Collins Glass

Preparation: add gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in a Collins glass. Fill with ice, add soda top and stir. Garnish with a slice of lemon and optionally, a maraschino cherry.
