Cocktail of the week by Spirits Hunters: Ginger Margarita/Nutmeg
A Margarita cocktail that we will twist this time with ginger and a touch of nutmeg.
For this cocktail you will have to prepare ginger syrup. Then you will prepare a classic margarita. The whole will be mixed then garnished with lemon and nutmeg.
Ingredients
For the syrup: 150ml
-170g of sugar
-340ml of water
-One ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces
For the Margarita:
Sugar
Grated fresh nutmeg
56ml of tequila o de reposado
Ice cubes
1 lime and its juice
1 lime to garnish
Preparation: To prepare the ginger syrup, add water and sugar to a pan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Add the ginger and leave to soak for 30 minutes.
Once the syrup is ready, pour it into a blender until you obtain a puree. Filter the mix with a strainer to extract the pulp. Store the syrup in a jar or bottle.
To prepare the Margarita, mix sugar with the grated nutmeg. Add tequila, lemon juice, 150ml of the ginger syrup and ice cubes in a shaker. Shake vigorously.
Rub the rim of your glass with a wedge of lime, and dip the rim of the glass in the sugar/nutmeg mixture.
Finally, add ice cubes to your glass and pour the shaker mixture into the glass. Grate a little more nutmeg on the top of the cocktail and garnish with a wedge of lime.
Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
