It’s St. Patrick’s Day! 5 popular cocktails and drinks to celebrate
It’s popular to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a drink in hand. Stout beer, Irish cream…even cocktails, we tell you what to drink to celebrate.
You don’t need to paint everything green on this day to celebrate, although we recommend some colorful recipes, we also recommend typical drinks, local brands and cocktails with both.
Beers
The quintessential Irish beer is Guinness. Black, strong, full-bodied and with a beautiful foam. But if a stout is too heavy for you, you can try some of the best ales: Kilkenny Cream Ale, with its dark red color and lighter than Guinness with 4.3% alcohol. Or Smitwick’s Irish Red Ale, another red ale that has a perfect balance between bitterness and subtle roasted coffee notes, blending delicate, fruity, floral and malty aromas.
Cocktails
Irish Hot Toddy: although spring is almost here, it’s still a bit chilly in some places. Prepare a hot drink with Irish whiskey, sugar, lemon, cloves and boiling water.
Whiskey + Ginger Ale: add some fresh lime juice, Irish whiskey and ginger ale.
Whiskey Sour: a classic! You will need 50 ml of bourbon, 35 ml of lime juice, 12 ml of sugar syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, half an egg white, ice and lemon peel. To garnish, an orange peel and a cherry. Once you have the ingredients, shake everything vigorously (except the lemon peel) in a shaker with ice. Strain everything into a rocks glass. Squeeze the lemon zest over the glass to extract the aromatic oils on the surface. Discard the zest, add the orange peel and cherry on a stick for garnish.

Irish Coffee: This type of coffee prepared in layers is quite dense. You can make it with hot coffee, cream, brown sugar and of course, Irish Whiskey! Make it in a glass mug.
Ingredients:
60 ml Irish whiskey
150 ml of coffee
2 teaspoons of sugar
Thick cream
Preparation: first heat the mug. Add the whiskey, coffee and sugar in the cup. Stir until a uniform mixture is obtained. Finally add a good layer of lightly whipped cream. Do not mix it with the coffee, let it float.
Green cocktails
Grasshopper: another green cocktail for your party. The Grasshopper does not use any hard liquor, it only needs two cream liqueurs such as crème de menthe and crème de cacao.
