Lagos Cocktail Week 2018 : discover Nigeria’s cocktail scene

The fifth edition of the Lagos Cocktail Week took place from the 16^th to the 18^th of October at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 3-day festival gathered numerous local celebrities such as actress Ini Dima-Okojie, influencer Mimi Onalaja or chef Uzo Orimalade, who took part to the various activities offered.

The main event was introduced by a Bar Crawl on the 4^th of October. Five bars in Lagos offered the participants diverse cocktails and spirits samples to demonstrate their talent and creativity. The participating bars were Signature Lounge, Brass and Copper, Backyard Bar and Grill, South Eatery and Buzz Bar.

Then, several conferences were held around one theme: “Changing the African Cocktail Narrative Through Collaboration and Creativity”.

The festival also included a Bar Battle as well as Cocktail Industry Awards. Among the winners were:

According to Lara Rawa, founder of the event, the success of LCW2018 is proof that Nigeria’s cocktail industry is flourishing and that it includes both local and international cocktail culture and know-how.
